The fruits are green when they start off, but turn orange and then red when fully mature. They can grow up to 12" (30 cm) in length and taper from 2 cm (¾") in diameter to a fine point. They have a unique curling and twisting pattern, and are heavy yielding. Sweet Cayenne peppers can be easily harvested at any maturity and are versatile for use in stir fries and salads. Similar to frying peppers, they provide a delightful sweetness and crunchiness for your culinary enjoyment.
75 Days to maturity. Sweet Cayenne Pepper Seeds - Non-GMO, annual, open-pollinated with mild heat levels (0-200 SHU). Ideal for garden plots, raised beds, and greenhouses. Thin-walled, 12-inch crimson red fruit. Enjoy as a frying pepper for a sweet and crunchy addition to any meal.~5,000 seeds/oz.
Sowing: Germinate pepper seeds indoors 8 weeks before spring frost. Use peat pots and soil at 80-85 degrees F. Provide 12-16 hours of sunlight or artificial light. Move seedlings outside when temp is 60-65 degrees F during day and no lower than 50 degrees F at night. Gradually acclimate plants to outdoors before transplanting.
Growing: To maintain proper plant health, consistently water and control weeds in the soil. The addition of mulch can assist with this process. In cases of excessive heat and sun, providing shade for the plants is recommended.
Harvesting: Harvest peppers according to your preferences. Ripe peppers are sweeter but picking them green will encourage more production. Use a knife or scissors to avoid damaging the delicate stems.
