Pick when fruits are around 4 inches. Plants prefer full sun and do well in sandy soil. Flowers are large and lovely, and squash is delicious. Native Americans would intercrop squash, beans, and corn. The pole beans grow along the corn stalk, and squash is grown in the lower, horizontal space. This is how the "three sisters" term came to be. These seeds may produce fruits that grow to be many pounds if left to mature.
