germination. Please familiarize yourself with growing conditions and
instructions for your seeds before you plant them, as all seeds are different.

Earth Tones Dent
Muted colors for fall decoration.
Large, 8-10", ears are filled with gold, dark orange, green, pink, blue, and in-between colored kernels. For ornamental use or grinding into corn meal. Tall, 8-10' plants. (Untreated seed )
90 Days. Earth Tones Dent is an exciting reselection from an heirloom, dent flour corn. The 8-10" ears display beautiful, muted earth tones of gold, bronze, mauve-pink, green, brown and blue - great colors for fall sales. The attractive ears can be used for fall decoration, ground to use for flour or used for bird or animal feed.
Sow seeds directly in the garden in spring after soil has warmed. Does best in deeply cultivated soil that is high in nitrogen. To aid pollination, avoid planting in a single row. For succession, plant every 3 weeks until early summer.
HARVEST:Normally dry corn is left out for several frosts, but the ears may be picked after the husks begin drying. Bring husked ears under cover to complete drying. Popcorn should be harvested when kernels are fully mature (hard and glossy) or they won't pop well. After husking, spread out the ears in a dry, airy place and allow to "cure" for several weeks. The ideal moisture content for popcorn is 13-14.5%. Periodic test-popping will tell you when the kernels are dry enough to store, either on the cob or shelled.
DAYS TO MATURITY:Maturity was recorded here at our farm. (Lat. 44.5°N). Corn will generally mature earlier farther south, later farther north, all environmental conditions being equal.
