A vigorous climber that ascends high into the trees; leaves to 1' across, shallowly lobed, beautiful in fall, purples and reds; easy to grow, wants sun or part shade; 3/8" black berries in bunches to 8", barely edible; native to Japan, Korea, and Sakhalin .This climbing vine will quickly cover a trellis or arbor and makes a wonderful display in the landscape.

Growing Info:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours.
Stratification: cold stratify for 180 days.
Germination: sow seed 1/8" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed.
Other: fall sowing in mulched beds is prefered to artificial stratification.
