Muhlenbergia lindheimeri is a species of grass known by the common names big muhly and Lindheimer's muhly. It is native to North America, where it can be found in northern Mexico and Texas. It is also grown as an ornamental grass.

Big muhly (Muhlenbergia lindheimeri) bears the name of the father of Texas botany, Ferdinand Lindheimer. It forms 3- to 5-foot clumps of blue-green foliage with narrow seed stalks appearing in late summer and fall. This muhly is a good alternative to pampas grass although much smaller in stature.
