Try them baked, boiled, fried, roasted or grilled.
Good source of fiber and provides potassium. Like most sweet potatoes, it has a low glycemic index, essential for weight watchers and diabetics. Some studies have discovered significant antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Using a small hand trowel, dig a hole about 4" or 5" deep and 3" wide. Place one slip in each hole with the roots pointing down. Position the slip so that the bottom half will be covered with dirt while the top half with all of the new leaves is above ground.
Carefully fill the hole with dirt so that you don't bruise the new plant. Sweet potatoes don't like to be bruised or bumped around too much. When you have completely covered it with soil, gently press the plant and surrounding dirt to set the plant and to remove any remaining air pockets. Continue the same way until all of your slips are planted.
I have not yet received this item although I have received notifications that it was on the way, arrived and now a request for a review. Sorry, but I although I paid there's nothing here for me to review.
I am truly amazed at the condition my slips (sweet potatoes) came in the mail. Unlike most slips or plantings in the mail that are dried up and in horrible shape. The Caribbeangardenseed slips I ordered where in great shape and very alive.
I know where I will be ordering from now on.
The slips arrived in good shape and are growing well! It takes a while for them to arrive, but they do.
You get one star as I have not received anything I have ordered. I can always change the rating but as of now 1 star because there are no stars. If I don't receive my order that I placed in late April or beginning of May I will go to the Texas Attoney General and file a complaint as you have taken my money but I have yet to receive anything I ordered. And since you are conducting business across state lines it may get bumped up to the FBI as a white collared crime for thief of money. So please send me my order by the end of June or I will the next step. I have been patient but that only goes so far.
I haven’t received my order. Tried to email the company privately to cancel order for potato slips after I received 2 Shishito plants that are dried and
brittle. No response. No refund. Shishito plants died and no sweet potato slips delivered.
