Flowers from Summer Through Fall

Dahlias are a popular choice of plants bringing bright bold colours to your garden borders in the late summer. This variety is a beautiful, subtly coloured Dinnerplate Dahlia that will create a huge impact in the garden.

Native to Mexico and Central America, dahlias provide us with more pleasure than almost any other summer bulb we have because they produce an abundance of wonderful flowers perfect for 'gift giving flower arrangements' throughout early summer and again in late summer until frost. Especially if they are picked for arrangements, these 'cut and come again' plants require almost no care, they appear to be pest resistant and they come in a myriad of colors.

Plant in full sun or partial shade. Dahlias have different shapes from the tightly formed flowers of the pompon-types to the looser ones of the cactus-types and the decorative in-between types, they're all terrific!

Full Sun

Blooms: Summer to Fall

Height: 40"

About: Impressive flowers that bloom 8" in size. Attracts hummingbirds & butterflies

Tips: Our favorite tip for Dahlias is to pinch the first sprouts when they are 2” above the ground. This will stimulate growth of more sprouts that develop into stems with flowers. Plant when the soil temperature reaches 60°F and danger of frost has passed. Since the flowers are large on dinnerplate dahlias, consider staking the flowers as they grow.
